Teacher comment

Isaac, your explorations of animations has lead to a great shift in your understandings around animations. You have taken what you knew, and experimented with “the basics”, to produce very smooth running animations. You have then ventured into the use of GIMP, to further extend the possibilities within a lego animation. I have been impressed with the way you have listened to feedback from others, and used this to enhance your work. Using animation as a vehicle to get a message across was a great idea, and one that I hope you can use, to process further ideas in the future!

Passion project rubric

This is my passion project rubric, it has if I was above, at or below. It also had what I would do differently next time and what the teachers could do differently next time.

Passion project PMI.

This is my passion project pmi ( plus minus and interesting.) It shows what I really liked, what
I found difficult and what I found interesting during my project.

Passion project animation.

The animation is finished and that means my passion project is over. There is also more added on from the original plan and that bit is the second animation. The purpose is that enrich needs a bus stop.

imovie

Thomas and my animation is done and we are putting sound effects and voiceovers on 'Imovie'. We got Alana to honk her car horn and we recorded it for our animation. We did it so the council can see what Enrich is like without a bus stop (which it doesn't have right now), and what it would be like with one.

Animation problem!

Ah! Thomas and my animation had 367 frames on it, but then suddenly... they all changed to white blank squares! They still had the animation in the bottom bar but in the end we deleted it because the problem was unsolvable!

Plan for animation

This is my plan for Thomas and I's animation which is about problems on the road outside Enrich, and how we think they should be solved.

Before and after.

Today I used "Gimp" to make pictures for my animation, so the lego men have a piece of money.

Planning, creation and final animation

Finally it is done, our animation for the tvnz6 net guide comp. It was very tough and tiring because for about the first 4 tries it didn't work and once we got it done we left it on the workshop desktop and it got deleted by accident. So when we did it again, we put it on imovie but... it disappeared the next week so we put it on imovie AGAIN! Once we did it we sent it in we uploaded it to youtube. This is the plan for Travis, Josh and I's animation for the tvnz6 net guide competition, it took us a while to get it just right and to get the detail in it right.

This is Josh, Travis and me working on our animatio
n about what to do in a earthquake, for the TVNZ 6 competition which we need done in 1 week! We are putting all our knowledge that we know about animation in it but wont be much compared to the end of the year.

This is the storyboard for our lego animation that we are going to enter into the TVNZ 6 Netguide competition.

Lego animation must dos

This is my lego animation must do's, it's what i need to have in my animation at the end of the my passion project.

These are some pictures of animations I did for testing effects, getting better at moving the lego men and prior knowledge.

In this animation I was practising:
gun shot effect.

In this animation I was practising
'draw' effect.

In this animation I was practising the
jump effect and chroma key.

In this animation I practised moving items up a distance while making it look real.

In this animation I tried out what it would be like with one frame for each movement.

Lego animation passion project

This is my prior knowledge for my passion project which is a lego animation. It has to have 3 thousand shots to 5 thousand shots because 650 shots only took around a minute and thirty seconds and I want to make a longer one and put more effects to make it better.

Teacher comment

You have learnt some valuable knowledge and skills during science this term Isaac. Learning to make contact with experts and use your questioning skills to find out new information will take you a long way in future investigations. Your own river ecosystem had taken on board all of the required factors for its survival, thanks to your striving for accurate information around this. I hope that it continues to survive!

Talent evaluation

This is my talent evaluation keynote this shows how my thinking has changed throughout my talent development which we had three different subjects computer, art and science. I did science
because ecosystems are interesting and without one thing it would fail and much more...

This is my systems art. We did this because were learning about systems inputs, throughputs and outputs. We used silver, gold and bronze because they are good colors for cogs.
